Raleigh Motus GT e-bike

Bosch Active Line Plus motor, range-topping components

Established in 1887 in Nottingham, England (where Director Cathy spent 3 happy years at University), Raleigh is one of the world's oldest and best known bike brands.  Known for shaking up the industry with the introduction of iconic models such as the Raleigh Chopper (1969) which sold 1.5 million units, they are on the pulse when it comes to electric bikes with their Motus Tour and Motus Grand Tour models.

Their motto says it all;

“ Everything is more fun on a Raleigh Bike”

- and we couldn’t agree more - though their strapline for the Motus rings even more true;

“Its like riding a bike, only more fun”.

Raleigh Motus Grand Tour Specification

Motor

The Bosch Active Line Plus motor is quiet - you can hear it in Turbo mode but otherwise its very subtle, yet it's easily powerful enough to get you up any local hill. You get to choose how much effort you put in, using no power (optionally on the flat or downhill), the lowest ‘Eco’ setting, up through to ‘Tour’, ‘Sport’ and ‘Turbo’ (so much fun!)

Frame

Lightweight aluminium frame.

Gearing & Brakes

The gearing (Shimano Deore) is easy and comfortable to use with a Shift lever and the hydraulic disc brakes are excellent in all conditions.

Comfort

Low Step (without a crossbar) and Open (a low crossbar) styles make it easier to get on and off. In our fleet, the bike size dictates the style. The Grand Tour has front suspension offering a less bumpy ride on rough tarmac and a super comfortable set up for leisure riding on local roads and the odd track.

Added Extras

The Bosch Intuvia display and controls are easy and intuitive to use. There is a rear carrier for your bits and pieces, and front and rear lights, powered by the battery.

Tyres

Puncture resistant tyres with the right tread and traction for all weather / road conditions you might expect to come across on your bespoke ride.

Accessories

All bikes are delivered to you in pristine condition.

Your experience includes loan of a smart road cycling helmet (compulsory) and a water bottle (half & full-day tours) to fit into the bottle cages on the bike. Your bike has a smartphone mount which takes any size or make of phone and carries it securely on the handlebars to enable you to follow your route. The phone can also be charged on the move, from the Bosch Intuvia computer mounted on the stem, via a USB cable.

Your bike has mud guards, lights, a chain guard and pannier rack at the back so you can strap a bag to take anything you might need with you. You will be provided with a lock to secure the bike when you aren't riding.

Bike Fit / Sizing

During the booking process we will ask you for your height, which helps us determine the correct size of bike to reserve for you. Our bikes come in 3 different frame styles and sizes (S, M, L).  Each size has a wide height range.

On delivery, to achieve your optimal riding position, we will adjust the bike to fit you by raising or lowering the seat and adjusting both the angle and height of the handlebars.

Our aim is for you to feel at ease and comfortable on the bike, so you can enjoy that large capacity battery range!
